Prompt from DailyPrompt.com

Life is like a sharp stick - you should never pass it up, but be careful how you grab it.
Life is like an undug hole - filled with potential, but that potential includes disappointment, sore paws, and being sprayed with a hose while someone screams about flowerbeds.
Life is like a broken squeaky toy - yes there is frustration and flaws, but also tremendous sentimental value.
Life is like a cat - an excellent friend but a terrible, terrible enemy.
Life is like a good ramble through the woods - you never want it to stop but perhaps it’s necessary. And who knows what comes next?

Prompt was “Life is like a sharp stick…”

[I was originally going to do something with Barnabus, what with him being my only established dog character. But I feel that Barnabus is the sort of dog who would only quote these ironically.]
