Microfic roundup

This is actually last week’s fics +1 because I wanted the four-part serial to be all in one roundup. 🙂

What did I learn this week? Well, I discovered Substack has a built-in feature to add Unsplash stock images to your posts. So now everything has thumbnails! (Including all previous stories.) My hope is this will help set the “tone” of the story right at the start and give visualisers something to work with, since the low word count limits describing stuff. I will still be aiming to improve my descriptions tho, it’s an important skill I struggle with.

I also had my first “microfic which turned into a tidy mini-serial” experience, with Mable’s Marvellous Sweetie Shop. While I might return to this concept (in particular I will rework it into a short story if I come up with a better ending) it’s done for now, which is a nice lil victory.
